Well, UPS broke the fucking Casino I shipped in trade for the strat

MOTHERFUCKER

Guy emailed me and said there was a crack in the headstock, sent along a pic.

So now I've opened a claim with UPS. Thing is, I shipped out of a Staples, and the internets is reporting the Staples claims department is slow as shit and hard to deal with.

I've shipped a half dozen guitars, using the same packaging, with no issues. This one even had a hard case.

Who's had this sort of an issue before? What's the best thing to do in this situation?

The buyer said the box didn't look dented or anything, is the thing.

Happened to me a while back, bought a Strat on ebay, looked mint, MIA, in the original hard case (great case too), showed up with the neck broken down the middle. Odd because the case looked fine.

The seller gave me a refund, I ate the shipping, no big deal.

I've never had to deal with the insurance end of it.

Good luck man, hopefully they won't drag their feet.

He's gonna have to get something, I mean if you want to keep the Casino just send him cash equal to the value of the broken guitar. Only solution I can think of.

he did get something, the fucking casino. yeah its broke, but it can be fixed. its not dashs fault and he shouldnt have to titty feed this guy. shit happens, fuck em.

UPS usually fucks you over by having insane packaging requirements in order to get your insurance claim, like 2" of bubble wrap on every surface, double-boxing, etc (not sure exactly). you might want to start working on a compromise with the buyer like offering to pay to get the headstock fixed

They do if you can prove they did it... gonna be a long process but don't give up, they'll work with you.

I admire the attitude but the real world doesn't work that way, he could sue Dash for not packaging the guitar well enough before sending it.

As the buyer now owns that property it's the sellers responsability to take total care of that item and deliver it to the buyer in condition equal to as it was at the time of sale.

UPS will work with him though.
